Pages H1686–H1692: Di Fulvio M, Lauf PK, Shah S and Adragna NC. "NONOates regulate KCl transporter-1 and -3 mRNA expression in vascular smooth muscle cells." Our study on regulation of vascular smooth muscle cell expression of KCI cotransporter-3 (KCC3) mRNA by NONOates was conducted by mRNA amplification using oligonucleotide sequences based on KCC3 sequences reported by Mount et al. (1). Because of nomenclature changes made by Mount et al. in a note added in proof to their paper (1), i.e., referring to KCC3 as KCC4, the mRNA data reported in our paper correspond to KCC4 rather than to KCC3. Accordingly, our study shows that NONOates regulate KCC4 mRNA expression in vascular smooth muscle.
